2010 Wrap Ups Ventura Raceway.com August 4, 2010 - Fair Night VRA Dwarf Cars were on hand with 40 cars racing in two classes, Seniors and Prows. The Seniors ran three heat races and a 20 lap main event. Heat wins went to Kent Benson, George Calvo and Tom Stephens Sr. The main event went to Bill VanPraag followed by Calvo, Gordon Brand, Geroge Sack and Glen Monk. The Pro Class also ran three heats with wins going to Curt Cook, Ray Estrada and Errol Sack. Their 20 lap main went to Lars Wolfe followed by Angel Figueroa, Ray Estrada, Eric Alton and Steven Benson. Both feature winners took home a first place check for $600.00 for their efforts.
VRA Kids classes were on hand racing in
three classes, Pistons, Super Chargers and Junior Midgets.
In Junior Midgets, heat race wins went to Riley Helland and
Devin McCree. Their 20 lap feature went to Austen Figueroa
with McCree, Helland, Cody Majors and Brennan Rogers
following to the checkered flag. In Mini Dwarf Pistons, the
win went to Conner Wakim with Ryan Butcher, Destyn Garcia,
Logan Rutherford and J D Brown following. Their two heat
races went to Rutherford and Wakim. In Mini Dwarf
Superchargers, the main event went to Nick Velasquez
followed by Cameron McCauley, Joseph Magana, Cole Wakim and
Oliver Blades. They also ran two heat races with the wins
going to Joey Freshour and Tommy Velasquez. Ventura Raceway.com July 3, 2010 Saturday night also saw the VRA Senior Dwarf Cars in attendance. 18 cars took the green for their feature 20 lap race. At the end is was Rob Hansen in the number 15 taking the win followed by George Calvo, Kent Benson, Glen Monk and Bill VanPraag. Three heat races were run with wins going Kevin Alverson, Mark Davis and Keith Koslov. The night ended with George Calvo maintaining his point lead by 85 points over Kent Benson.
Ventura Raceway.com June 26, 2010 Saturday night also saw the VRA Pro Dwarf Cars in attendance. 19 cars took the green for their feature race. At the end is was Brent Stevens who took the win followed by Ray Estrada, Lars Wolfe, Michael Sweeney Jr. and Micheal Lewis. Three heat races were run with wins going to point leader Angel Figueroa, Ray Estrada and Tom Stephens Sr. The wild ride of the night went to Angel Figueroa who on lap one of the feature flipped into the turn four exit of the track. The car was damaged, but Figueroa was ok. Competition was once again at the highest level in our kid’s classes, Saturday night. In the Piston Class the main event win went to Devin Pierson who had to battle Ryan Butcher and Logan Rutherford to get the win. Ryan Butcher took the heat race win in this class. In Super Chargers, Ricky Lewis came back to take the win in their main event over Tommy Velasquez and Oliver Blades. In the Junior Midget Class, Heat race wins went to Austin Figueroa and Devin McCree. The 15 lap feature went to Figueroa folowed by McCree, Cody Majors, Tommy Velasquez and Joseph Magana. Point leader Brennan Rogers had a tough night falling out of both his heat and the man event with mechanical ills. He still holds a 125 point lead over Cody Majors after 6 races. Ventura Raceway.com June 5, 2010 VRA Dwarf Cars were in action Saturday night with 25 cars in two divisions signed in. In Seniors the two heat race wins went to George Calve and Tom Stephens Sr. The feature ran 17 laps due to time restraints with the win going to Bill VanPraag followed by Calvo, Kevin Alverson, Mike Neal and George Sack Jr. In Pros, the two heat races went to point leader Angel Figueroa and 2009 series champion Ray Estrada. The 20 lap feature went to Estrada who made it two in a row with Figueroa second followed by Thomas Velasquez, Lee Majors and Eric Moore.
Our kid’s classes were also racing
Saturday. Wins in the Mini Dwarf Super Charger Class went to
Joseph Magana in their heat race and Joey Freshour in the 12
lap feature. In Pistons, the heat race and feature win went
to Troy Rutherford’s daughter Logan Rutherford who has a
three main event winning streak surpassing her dad’s earlier
two win streak in sprints giving her family bragging rights.
In Junior Midgets, heat race wins went to Austin Figueroa
and Chase Lippert. Their 15 lap main event went to Brennan
Rogers who led all laps to take his third win of the year
and maintain his season point lead over Cody Majors by 180

VRA Dwarf Cars were in action Saturday
night with the longest win streak on the line. Angel
Figueroa was going for five wins in a row in Pro Dwarf car
action, but a float tire in early competition put an end to
the streak and run for the record. He would finish seventh
in the time shortened event. The win went to 2009 series
champ Ray Estrada who finally got his new car running well
for the win. Second through fifth went to Mike Lewis, Steven
Benson, Lee Majors and Thomas Velasquez. Two heats were run
with wins going to Figueroa and Velasquez. Figueroa’s
seventh place finish keeps him 210 points ahead of Steven
Benson in the point race. In Senior Dwarf Car action, past
champion Kevin Alverson took the feature win over 15 other
drivers. Following him to the line were George Calvo, Rick
Lapke, Mike Neal and George Sack Jr. Two heats were run with
wins going to Keith Koslov and George Calvo. Kent Benson

Our VRA Kid’s Classes also ran
last Saturday night. In Junior Midgets, Brennan Rogers and
Devin McCee took heat race wins. Rogers came back to take
the main as well. In Mini Dwarf Car Super Chargers, Joey
Freshour took the 12 lap feature win. In Mini Dwarf Pistons
the heat race win went to Ryan Butcher. The 12-lap feature
went to Logan Rutherford for her second win in a row. Ventura Raceway.com May 15, 2010 There were 19 VRA Senior Dwarf Cars in attendance Saturday night. Everyone wanted to see if anyone could break Angel Figueroa’s win streak. After all was said and done, it was Figueroa once again in victory lane. So far in 2010 he has tasted victory in each race he has competed in whether it be Pros or Seniors. The race was a battle between Rick Lapka who jumped out front early and Figueroa. By mid race, Figueroa took his familiar position out front and then led to the checker. Following Figueroa to the line were Lapka, Lee Majors, Mike Neal and Kevin Alverson. There were two heat races run with wins going to Kevin Alverson and Bill VanPraag. Figueroa will be back in action on May 29th seeking a record five feature wins in a row in the Pro Division. Ventura Raceway.com May 8, 2010 There were 20 VRA Pro Dwarf Cars in attendance Saturday night. Everyone wanted to see if anyone could break point leader Angel Figueroa’s win streak. After all was said and done, Lars Wolfe almost pulled it off, only to have Figueroa get by him at the close of the 15 lap feature for win number 4 in four events. The race was a battle between Wolfe, Figueroa and Mike Lewis. Lewis finished third with Curt Cook fourth and Chuck Lippert taking fifth. There were three heat races run with wins going to Ray Estrada, Steven Bensen and Kevin Alverson. Figueroa will be back in action next week seeking a record five feature wins in a row. VRA Dwarf Cars were racing together in
two divisions Saturday night for the first time in 2010.
Angel Figueroa kept his streak alive by taking the win in
the Pro Class. Following him to the checker were Steven
Benson, Curt Cook, Michael Lewis and Lee Majors. Two Pro
heats were run with wins going to Ray Estrada and Steven
Benson. In Seniors, the win went to Kent Benson, followed by
Bill VanPraag, George Calvo, Kevin Alverson and Mike Neal.
Their two heat races went to Benson and George Sack Jr.
After three racer, Angel Figueroa leads Steven Benson by 155
points in the Pros and Kent Benson leads VanPraag by 40
points in the seniors.
In our kid’s divisions, Mini Dwarf
Pistons action saw the feature win go to Logan Rutherford,
Troy Rutherford's daughter. In Mini Dwarf Super Chargers the
win went to Joe Snyder. In Junior Midgets, the feature went
to Brennan Rogers who now holds an 80 point lead over Austin
Figueroa after 3 races.

Lars Wolfe finished second and Eric Alton was third. Ryann Butcher was the Mini Dwarf Pistons winner over Logan Rutherford. Nick Velasquez beat his brother Tommy in the Mini Dwarf Supercharger race. Cody Majors went wire to wire in winning the Junior Midgets 15-lap main. Brennan Rogers was second.

Figueroa passed Keith Koslov on the third lap of the 20-lap feature. Riley Helland won the Junior Midgets feature. Kyle Peterson won the Mini Dwarfs Pistons and Cameron McCauley won the Mini Dwarf Superchargers.
